When in Rome…

Finally got around to posting some pictures from my trip to Italy in May. I visited Rome, Florene, Venice, and the Amalfi coast for both vacation and my friend’s wedding. It was an extraordinary trip and one I will never forget. This picture is from a series of photos of this good-looking couple in Rome hanging out an a street corner enjoying both their gelato and each other. However i was able to catch this moment of [...]

we love vino in the summer time

…or any time of the year really. But no words can express this as much as these pics do…. We unfortunately cannot disclose the winery at which these photos were taken as we might be forever banned from it…and this would be bad.

Matthew Barney at SFMOMA

We shot the opening for the Matthew Barney exhibition at SFMOMA last night and it was a really great event. Of course his girlfriend Bjork was also on hand and the whole fourth floor had been transformed so the space really felt opened up.

49ers

Tuesday night we shot the kickoff party for the Alex Smith Foundation which the 49ers quarterback was on hand to promote along with his inspiration, Antwone Fisher. On hand were also 49ers quarterback coach Norv Turner and the 49ers owner John York as well as numerous players and former foster care kids. We’ve been bouncing around an idea for a social photography project related for foster kids so this was the perfect event to help move that [...]

more to the secret menu…

As a primary sponsor of the top In-n-Out Burger secret menu page on the web, we occasionally get emails or calls about the menu. At one point a customer service rep from In-n-Out actually called the studio and we just received this note with some more insights into the menu options…

Postmodernism

We shot some venue shots for the San Jose Museum of Art this weekend. I really liked this shot of Listening Post.

The Doctor is In…

So Dr. Ruth was on hand for this graduation we shot. I never realized what her exact stature was but in person she’s just as she is on TV!

How to spend an evening

Last night I shot a tribute event for John Marks who’s retiring from the SFCVB and it was a lush gala dinner that was out on the field at AT&T Park. Right after, I felt like getting a drink so I headed down to the Tenderloin to go to RX Gallery where some of our friends were throwing a party called Grounded.

Behind the Lens

As photographers, we’re often behind the lens so there are many who you never really see unless you are the subject of the photo itself. Last night I ran into Drew Altizer who is probably the number one society shooter in San Francisco. Here he is with Lana Adair at the Baxter Chang Patri gallery for First Thursdays. Of course he managed to get me back by photographing me too.

The Carter Torch

On hand at tonight’s event was President Jimmy Carter who was there to support his son Jack Carter, who’s running for Senate in Nevada. In a way it was the passing of the torch from one generation to the next, and the integrity and honesty that is hallmark to the Carter name was absolutely recognizable in all three generations of Carters present.
