Just thought we’d share the wealth for those who are going to WPPI this year. We’ve exhibited there before and gone several years and this year it will be in Las Vegas from March 17-19. You can use this pass to go to the expo for free!
It’s National Mentoring Month
So January is National Mentoring Month. At Orange we’re participating in First Exposures, which is a mentoring program for youth and of course involves photography. It’s a great program but there are tons of opportunities to volunteer as a mentor. We encourage you to check out the numerous opportunities to do so in the Bay Area! Imaging USA wrap up
So things have been pretty hectic getting back to the studio and while early January is usually a bit slow for us this year things have been hopping! Anyhow, Imaging USA was once again a very useful conference with a lot of good knowledge being shared and of course lots of neat stuff at the expo. _No body special I just got an invitation to the opening reception to Lynn Hershman’s exhibit entitled ‘No body special’. Lyn commissioned me to photograph this project for her and it was an quite the learning experience. I am looking forward to the exhibit, which runs from feb 2 until june 1 at the De young.
San Francisco Wedding Fair ’08
Once again this year we were invited to participate for the Five Star Afternoon at the Four Seasons. Being that it’s invitation only there’s a high percentage of top vendors for weddings and we’re always proud to be involved. This year we also launched our photo booth offering and it really took off! The Knot, Real Wedding
Lea and Gene’s wedding, one of my clients from 2006, is being showcased in the latest issue of the The Knot (Northern California issue). They have even put together a little slideshow from that wedding on their site.
Imaging USA – Day 1
So Day 1 of Imaging USA is under wraps and it’s the biggest year ever here with around 9000 folks participating. Most of the sessions have been overflow with something like 800 or more people in attendance per presentation. Imaging USA expo Day 1
A quick look at a section of the very busy expo hall at Imaging USA 2008 in Tampa, FL. Blurb had a presence this year and the top vendors were probably books/albums and online services. Of course photographers being the gearheads they are, all the gear booths were swamped as well.
