Fujiya & Miyagi

2007-03-14T01:54:27-07:00By |Categories: Uncategorized|

As we walked up to Mezzanine the first thing we heard was one of the security guys saying Wasabi and Miyagi. It made us all crack up and was appropo. The boys from England known as Fujiya & Miyagi played a nice set to a welcoming crowd and it proved to be a nice Tuesday night excursion.

Lexar rocks

2017-07-24T21:19:02-07:00By |Categories: Point of View|

Today I received a DVD and replacement compact flash card from Lexar. As is wont to happen with any technical product, eventually something may go wrong and that’s what happened with this card. It had performed flawlessly for thousands upon thousands of shots and numerous shoots. However, this last time it worked fine in camera but attempting to download the images, it crapped out so I sent it off to Lexar after trying a few image rescue [...]

San Diego City Tour

2007-03-07T14:07:48-08:00By |Categories: Point of View|

Another nice thing about our jobs is getting to learn about things. With the more technical things, it’s often hard to know what’s going on, but we got to shoot on a city tour this week and I learned a lot more about San Diego. The military has a strong presence here, and there are two aircraft carriers berthed in San Diego Bay, with the USS Nimitz being the one show in this photo. It was amazing [...]

The Orange Element!

So things have been off to a great start here in 2007 with some really exciting shoots we’ve had and hence our lack of attention to our blogging! Anyhow, here’s a shot of our new company car – a 2007 Honda Element. You may see us tooling around town in it or see if parked in front of the studio in SOMA.

Crash!

On the way back from an event tonight I passed by this wreck on Oak Street. It was around 10:23 p.m. and there were all kinds of cars on top of each other. Click on the photo to see a few other shots. Not sure what the outcome of this was or how it exactly happened although I heard that the Porsche Cayenne was the one that rammed into some parked cars?

The Business of Photography or the Photography Business?

2007-02-21T08:16:28-08:00By |Categories: Point of View|

Todays What the Duck comic strip had a pretty relevant entry today. This past week we were in Orlando shooting for Bank of America and some of the assistants we used were asking a lot about photography and how they weren’t being taught any business skills in school. Obviously (or perhaps not) business skills are as important as your photography skills. We’ve seen too many people who focus only on improving their photography skills at the expense [...]

Polarizing filters

2017-07-24T21:19:02-07:00By |Categories: Personal, Point of View|

This shot was all done in camera. I was flying into Orlando International last night and saw the sun peeking through the clouds. I was thinking of how when you get that kind of light, it’s often when you can see a rainbow (if it were actually raining). Since the sunlight was going into the water below, I thought about quickly putting on my polarizing filter and catching a shot to see if I could record that [...]
