We’ve been reading Chip Conley’s book: Peak: How Great Companies Get Their Mojo from Maslow, and got a lot out of it. It’s a really good business book which focuses on how you can leverage Maslow’s heirarchy of needs with respect to a service business. As a photographer it’s important to remember that while we do deliver images as a final product, we are actually in a service industry as well. How you treat your clients will be a big factor in how well you can earn referrals and have fanatical fans who will evangelize about your work. We’d highly recommend the book as it also will provide you with a bit of perspective on how we’ve decided to run our studio here at Orange. This photo is one from the Travel + Leisure Magazine 35th Anniversary party that was held at the Hotel Vitale, one of Chip’s properties and he’s shown at the far right.
