Well, I got to see someone from my past when I photographed MLB Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench this past week. I used to watch baseball and other sports on TV with my dad in the 1970s and I vividly recall the Krylon ads where Bench was featured so it was a bit surreal to be photographing him now in 2007.
He was a good speaker and his story is one which I’ve noted quite a bit in successful people. Ever since he was a kid he wanted to be a Major League Baseball player. He said that to everyone he knew and actually fulfilled that. Declaring your goals publicly is something I’ve heard many people say helps to make it happen, and I’ve noticed that it does indeed work as a motivational function by putting your mind in the right frame.
I’m not sure what I might declare for myself and/or Orange, but it’s something I will have to put some thought into.
