Norma Norwood - SF Earthquake baby
We covered the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and Fire centennial commemoration for the San Francisco Chronicle yesterday and it was quite a day long festivity. It all kicked off at Lotta’s Fountain on Market St. and the highlight for me was Norma Norwood (pictured above) who was actually conceived in Golden Gate Park because, according to her, her parents were cold and homeless as a result of the ‘quake and had to cuddle. You know what cuddling leads so and so there she was conceived. She was later raised by prostitutes she told our mayor to everyone’s delight.
