This is a busy month with shoots for me in four different states and my first trip was out to Chicago where I was greeted by this wonderful scene outside my hotel – yes that’s the hotel pool covered in snow. One of the hard things when traveling around the country and hitting regions with wildly varying climates is how to pack. The photography gear is pretty consistent, but the clothing is what gets you.
I try to pack everything for all my trips so that I can carry it all on-board. However, when it’s in the single digits in one place and in the 80s in the next, that leaves an interesting looking carryon. I have shorts as well as thermals and actually had to go shopping in Chicago when an additional day of shooting was added on today. Of course now things are a bit pushed back and I get to watch freezing worker bees in the financial district carry their mugs of hot java while exhaling white gusts of breath from the comfy confines of the Westin.
