Our beautiful city

One of the great things about our jobs is the various ways we get to see what goes on in San Francisco, but sometimes just looking at the physical city itself is a pleasure. Here’s a couple shots I took from the last seven days or so…

Fire in the Mission

So my friend Jen Chehardy was visiting along with her roomate so I decided to take them to the Mission and after lunch at Pancho Villa we walked down Valencia and eventually made it up to the roof at Medjool. Once we were there we were greeted with a spectacular view of San Francisco, and a plume of black smoke from a fire in the Mission.

Six in one night

Ah models…

Real models make our jobs so easy. Tonight we shot an event for Nordstrom with designer Dana Buchman and there was a runway show staffed by some models from San Francisco. Some people say models are overpaid, but when you work with good ones, it helps to make everyone look better…

Camera Gear of the Rich and Famous

Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff started chatting with me about camera gear tonight and I found out he has a 1Ds which seems to be the camera of choice of the well heeled. A top Democratic official I spoke with at a political event also shared that he too had a 1Ds although he didn’t quite know how to use all it’s features.

So my good friend Stacey Miller (a great stylist at diPietro Todd Salon in Union Square) had her soiree and I surprisingly found myself in her slideshow – but she was the subject of a photo that I entered into the 7×7 Magazine Bring on the Night contest a year ago that was selected – so it was only fair…

the passion of music

_halou before my passion for photography, i had a passion for music. but since i was more untalented as a musican, the closet i can become an ‘artist’ is being a photographer. but there is also the saying that, if you love something, don’t make it a living.

Spike Lee and Kevin Epps

Spike Lee was in town promoting his latest book, and of course also discussed his films and the world of filmmaking as well.
