One of the perks of our jobs is being places we might not otherwise be. That was the case this past Wednesday night when I shot the 2005 San Francisco Symphony’s Gala. Not only was our very own Michael Tilson Thomas conducting the symphony, but famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma was performing as well.
Ma is inspiring to watch and listen. At times I’d close my eyes to focus more on the music, but then I’d open them and you could see how involved Ma was in the music. It was like he was merely releasing the music that was in him through the cello. It was really a treat and something I’ll definitely remember for a while.
