Amy Harrity

Over the 25+ years Orange Photography has been in business we’ve had the fortune to work with so many amazing, creative folks! As photographers we all like to grow creatively and many of the folks who have previously worked with us are doing amazing things and we wanted to showcase a few of those alumni!

First off is Amy Harrity who moved down to Southern California after working here in San Francisco and has established herself as an in-demand editorial and commercial photographer shooting for many of the same clients we’ve worked with over the years such as AirBnB, Levi’s and Nordstrom.  You may have seen her work with celebrities like Awkwafina, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Anniston, Kim Gordon, or a host of other top names and she’s now represented by Making Pictures. Amy had settled down in Altadena, CA where the Eaton Fire hit in January of this year and she and her family were fortunate to have their home spared by the fire but they’re still dealing with the massive impact that has had to their family and community so if you would like to help out there’s a GoFundMe set up to help them recover here.

Damien MaloneyAnother SoCal transplant is Damien Maloney.  Damien and Amy worked with Orange around the same time and both are succeeding in similar worlds with Damien shooting editorial, commercial and fine art.  He’s photographed for numerous publications like Vogue, Aperture, Wired and the New York Times, taking photos of well known celebs like Idina Menzel, Guy Fieri and John Waters. You can check out his latest work on his Instagram.

Asher JelinkskyWhile most Orange alumni have stayed with photography, Asher Jelinsky has moved to motion and film. A while back while watching Star Trek: Strange New Worlds I was super fascinated by one of the performers and looked them up (Jesse James Keitel). I hadn’t heard of her before and clicked on her Wikipedia page and the first reference was “known for starring in Asher Jelinsky’s award-winning short film Miller & Son.” That film was shortlisted for the Academy Awards-Oscars® and won the gold medal Student Academy Award, the BAFTA Student Film Award, and the gold Cannes Lions Young Director Award.

Traci Griffin / Traci BennaSpeaking of Cannes, while we’ve only shot there once as part of Orange Photography for an incentive program, another alumni, and our very first hire, Traci Benna (formerly Griffin), was recently there for the world-famous film festival.  She was on hand with her partner Tony Benna, who used to live next door to the original Orange Photography space in SOMA where he met Traci and was debuting his film Andre is an Idiot which won multiple awards.

Rebecca HinsdaleFinally we have Rebecca Hinsdale.  Originally moving to San Francisco from Chicago she moved back to Chicago and was still working for Orange until the pandemic.  While you won’t see her any more in San Francisco you can hear her voice in any Foo Fighters pinball machine if you start the New York City mode on the game.  That’s because Rebecca now works for Stern Pinball and is living the dream there.
