Young Musicians

The Youth Orchestra celebrated it’s 25th anniversary and ask us to do some portraits their press releases. Even young musicians had busy lives and i only had a few minutes with each of them; such is the nature of ‘celebrity’ portraiture. I tried out a new portable lighting trick – two 580 flashes and an umbrella and i like the results thus far.

Having a few days in between my shoots, I was lucky enough to find out about First Fridays in downtown Phoenix, which is apparently the largest art opening type of event in the US. It’s like the First Thursdays we have in San Francisco, but I was taken by how many families were strolling about with their kids exposing them to all sorts of arts and expressionism.
