Financial Services Firm’s Headshot Activation

Challenge

A Fortune 500 ranking financial advisory firm was in need of creating a big splash at their annual invite-only conference, which gathers the best and brightest minds from their industry for this five-day, intensive collaboration of education and networking. They were in need of a way to showcase their VIPs in an interactive, comprehensive way while utilizing the opportunity to highlight a new marketing strategy.  Orange Photography, being a collaborator with this firm for 7+ years, and involved in the photography strategy of this event for the last four, was tasked with creating branded 11×17 souvenir posters with a fully integrated onsite studio system. The posters requested were required to match the branding and style of their six-figure advertising campaign, displayed on billboards throughout the convention center, and were meant to celebrate advisor attendees by giving them a chance to “step into the ads.” Our job was to create an onsite experience that was high end, all inclusive and provided photography, design and printing services in a effective and efficient manner. Matching the brand’s look/feel and providing a seamless high-end client experience were of utmost importance, requiring thoughtful strategic planning.

Solution

Orange tackled this intensive effort by bringing on a dedicated project manager to handle coordination of all stages, along with five photographers and  four assistants, we worked in tandem with five additional staff from the conference’s marketing department to seamlessly manage customer service and brand awareness. In order to match the Independence Day branding and to ensure complete confidence in our strategy, the Orange team completed several test shoots, tweaking and refining the mock onsite process while creating both digital and print mockups for review by our client committee prior to the big show. Once the look had been confirmed, we created custom digital presets and workflow for the most efficient onsite post-processing and printing. Our pre-event online registration service also helped to control the flow of people to create a seamless client experience, as guests were able to make appointments and be introduced and prepped for their experience prior to the event.  Once on site, we arranged a multi-station portrait booth studio experience,  where attendees would receive  professional portraits and walk away with personalized souvenir posters commemorating their independence.

  • 3 portrait stations, totalling 54 hours of photography coverage over the course of a 4-day conference
  • On-site processing and printing of 400+  large format 11×17 high-end branded portrait posters available for guest pickup
