Recently I saw Sideways again during a trip up to wine country as part of an incentive trip we were shooting. One of the tour guides mentioned Bottle Shock as a better option since it’s about Napa wines more than Sideways was so I knew it was time to finally check it out.

If you don’t know the famous story of the 1976 Paris Tasting that vaulted California wines to popularity, it’s a great film to give you the story of that and it’s also great to see both Chateau Montelena as well as Napa County showcased in the film.

We’ll be back at Chateau Montelena this weekend for their sold out event so we look forward to looking at it with fresh eyes from watching the film.  Definitely check it out if you are interested in the history of California wines, or just want a good flick to enjoy!  (P.S. it took me a sec to figure out that Bo Barrett is played by Chris Pine – a.k.a. the new Captain Kirk from the J.J. Abrams Start Trek film from 2009)
