So my good friend Stacey Miller (a great stylist at diPietro Todd Salon in Union Square) had her soiree and I surprisingly found myself in her slideshow – but she was the subject of a photo that I entered into the 7×7 Magazine Bring on the Night contest a year ago that was selected – so it was only fair…

Spike Lee was in town promoting his latest book, and of course also discussed his films and the world of filmmaking as well. His next film is called “Inside Man” and stars Denzel Washington, Jodi Foster and Clive Owen. Here’s Lee with local Bay Area filmmaker Kevin Epps who we featured in our inaugural SF Faces show.

So our first show at our new space is getting pulled together and it’s a bit crazy over here. Tomorrow we’re going to be participating in First Thursdays as a kind of warm up for Open Studios this weekend, and then we’ve got a private party we’re hosting the next week. Traveling for shoots can be a lot of fun, but sometimes you miss home, and when home is San Francisco there’s a lot to miss. Katrina has affected many people and coming from the South and having been to New Orleans several times, I was very interested in what’s been going on down there. I saw some footage of the Garden District where I stayed last in January of 2005 and this one business was shown mostly submerged.

Fashion week observations

So this week we shot a lot of parties as we were the official photography sponsors for the Fashion Week after parties. On Saturday night I shot the party at the W Hotel which was hosted by industry415 and sponsored by Goorin Brothers, a hatmaker based here in the Bay Area.

Happy Birthday to us

So last week was our birthday and it’s hard to believe it’s gone by so fast. From the pad on Natoma to the studio/gallery space here at 1261 Howard and all the changes in between. From Colin to Traci to Scott to Katie to Sarah and Tara. It’s been quite the ride but I feel like we’re just cresting over the climb and the real ride is about to start.
