Business Practices for Photographers (required reading!)

ASMP business practices contracts photographers bookSince we work with quite a number of freelance photographers and have been in business for a bit, we get a lot of requests for information on how best to run a photography business. Since our profile has been growing through articles about Orange Photography and speaking at various seminars, etc., I thought it would be wise to post about one essential business book that all photographers regardless of what discipline they are specialized in should read.

The ASMP Professional Business Practices in Photography, 7th Edition is a fantastic resource and one that we highly recommend. From tips on licensing, contracts and sample documents to help you get started, this is one book that we always buy when the newest edition is published.
