Everyone who makes up our internal Orange team can be found on our About Us page, but there are a few important people who help us get our jobs done who are not on that page, our Studio Assistants! I would like to introduce them to you now:
Caitlin Crow
Caitlin is a multi-faceted artist born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her variety of experiences in customer service, art education, design, photography and dance have taught her to work hard, and always be prepared for anything! She holds a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in photography and film with minor studies in non-profit/small business administration.
What’s your favorite thing about photography?
I really enjoy how expansive and versatile the field is, and how it constantly changes! I feel lucky to live in a time when I can jump from older, analog processes to modern digital technology. I can shoot and experiment with fresh, expired and discontinued films and a variety of cameras, then scan my images to create prints, gifs, and animations. I also love researching lighting styles in magazines and films. There’s always something new to learn and try out.
What’s something from your childhood you wish you could bring back?
I grew up on San Bruno Mountain just south of the City and it’s been hard watching the neighborhood I grew up in get so built up. I’d like to see the narrow roads, redwoods and eucalyptus forests come back. The kids in the neighborhood now won’t get a chance to experience that.
Favorite Quote or Last Thoughts?
“We the mortals touch the metals, the wind, the ocean shores, the stones, knowing they will go on, inert or burning, and I was discovering, naming all these things: it was my destiny to love and say goodbye.” ― Pablo Neruda, Still Another Day
James Davey
Favorite Destination?
Anywhere along the Oregon Coast.
Favorite things to take advantage of in Bay Area?
Exploring Mt Tam or finding the elk in Point Reyes.
Favorite TV show?
Wonderfalls. One season of that was not enough.
Do you have any special/hidden talents?
I can shuffle dance and I can solve a Rubik’s Cube, but probably not at the same time. Probably.
What is your spirit animal?
I think it’s a mule deer. There are always a bunch of deer in my neighborhood and I feel like a deer more than anything else.
Describe what’s great about working at Orange in two sentences or less?
At Orange, I get to fill whichever role I choose. My responsibilities are so varied that no two days are the same, and I get to focus on the skills I want to develop the most.

What Inspires you?
Travel. Even just going to the airport inspires me.
Favorite thing about SF?
How free people are to express themselves here.
