i had the pleasure of photographing some excellent jewels on even more excellent models this past weekend. the shoot came together last minute but there was still some decent results from it. Some of my photography will probably appear on her website at some point. Hopefully, she will sell a lot of jewelery and we can have even more fun next time.

austin, first night

we’re in austin to do some guerilla marketing for our professional network. the trade show doesn’t start until sunday but we decided to come a little early to get taste of what texas has to offer. anyway, since road rules apply, i can’t say much except that we did enjoy ourselves a bit texas style tonight. i got given a hard time because i thought that photo in the cab on the way to the hotel. the [...]

Our friends at Delicious Karma threw a wonderful sexy party and of course i got plenty of great candid photos. but what keeps entertain is finding the ‘art’ in party.

kid friendly company

although we shot a number of engagements recently where the main subjects were kids and as much they i enjoy their energy and candor, i think i got my fill this weekend. trying to photograph 20 kids running around in an inflatable playgroud where they’re moving 10 times faster than they normally do was one of my more phyiscally challenging shoots. on occassions, they would stand still and i get some interesting adult like expression from them. [...]

the buddha collection

I recently visited Spirit Rock Meditation Center up in Marin for a few days of “relaxation”. I wasn’t suppose to ‘work’ but being a photographer at such an serene and beautiful place didn’t leave much choice in the matter. I’ve been interested in statues of buddha (specifically his facial features) for some time now and at some point i may build on a decent collection of imagery around the subject. Buddhism as a whole greatly interests me [...]

deja vu?

2017-07-24T21:19:33-07:00By |Categories: Point of View|

While photographing a Holiday Party over the weekend, I caught a photo that immediately reminded me of a photo that I took in November at Ruby Skye, SF. One a Master of Ceremonies, the other a member of the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, both completely focused on their task… Different places and times. Serious deja vu!

the last wedding of the season

2017-07-24T21:19:34-07:00By |Categories: Uncategorized|

it’s always nice to wrap up the wedding season with a wonderful and fun couple such as i had this weekend. it’s always a big risk with the weather during off season weddings but the weather couldn’t get any better for a brisk afternoon. the wedding happen to be in berkeley where there were a bit more trees and it reminded me of the fall when i used to live back in the east coast. as the [...]

I’m a Photographer Too!!

2005-12-01T12:08:57-08:00By |Categories: Personal|

Even though I’m an engineer here at OP, it’s not all about bits, bugs, and tech for me…. I can shoot too!! And no fancy SLR here, just a plain point & shoot digicam in ‘soft, blurry’ mode. This pot of daisies was basking in beautiful windowlight so my photography instincts told me to shoot it.

it wasn’t by design but i couldn’t resist crowning a friend’s baby as our official orange baby calendar year. it’s always amazing to photograph a baby’s progression within the first year. This one is beginning to have some character.
