Recently during a flight to and from a shoot in NYC I read John Harrington’s book: Best Business Practices for Photographers, Second Edition
and it’s got a wealth of great information for all photographers and small business owners.
He also had covered some of the info in his presentations at ASMP’s Strictly Business 2 – which was an awesome seminar – and I think they are working on the next one so keep an eye open for that as well.
Some highlights from the book included great examples on how to best handle your contracts and how to approach licensing. There’s so much more inside but suffice it to say that this should be one of your go-to books if you are starting up and even if you are already established.
