Green feet
Some feet from a shoot at SFMOMA for the Take your time: Olafur Eliasson exhibit which is running there right now and is really neat – we recommend checking it out and as the name says – to take your time!

So Deniz and Chris got married this past weekend and it was my first wedding of the 2008 season. They had their ceremony at Dog Patch Studios which is a nice photography studio here in San Francisco. We originally met Deniz through shooting some events and graduations for Carnegie Mellon West as well as for Azureus and now Vuze as well. Congrats you two!

So you may have noticed something this past weekend as we projected a few images against the inside of our windows at the Orange Photography studios on Howard Street in SOMA. Perhaps as you were getting a latte at Starbucks, a fill at the Andretti Speed Mart or a late night munchie fix at Burger King? Keep your eyes peeled as from time to time we’ll be doing this as a kind of guerrilla marketing test.
So if you want us to name something after you at the studio (like the “Jane Doe gallery”) feel free to buy this lens for us – B&H has it in stock right now. There’s a good article posted on their site by Allan Weitz that talks about this lens with some sample shots that illustrate just how much of a tele this is!
There’s a nice interview with Edward Burtynsky on To the Best of Our Knowledge that ran this weekend. I heard it last night night and you can listen to the podcast online. Jennifer Baichwal produced the film Manufactured Landscapes about Burtynsky’s work, and it’s an excellent film which is now available on DVD. If you haven’t seen Burtynsky’s work before, it’s highly recommended to view it preferably in a gallery environment since the impact of the imagery [...]
This past Saturday we were on hand to do some more green screen event photography up in Oakville and Anderson Valley. The shoot was for Silver Oak Wineries and it was a lot of fun albeit the weather wasn’t so cooperative, but still there were pretty big crowds on hand. (I think we ended up printing over 1,000 5x7s!) Since it was cold and wet outside, we used an image of the vineyard as the background which [...]
So our good friend Justin Fone who’s an excellent wedding videographer hosted a premiere party at his loft space in SOMA tonight. Great event with a lot of the top vendors in the industry there. It’s sometimes a bit amazing to realize how much talent there is in your group of friends and it’s great to see everyone succeeding while maintaining their creative visions. Congratulations Justin! Ah gotta love the cell phone photo quality!
Sammy Hagar performed last night at The Fillmore for a packed house after the SKYY National Sales Meeting wrapped up. Of course Sammy sold an interest in Cabo Wabo tequilas so they were flowing at the show. I was amazed at the intensity of his fans. One woman in front of me had a wallet portfolio of photos of her with Sammy. Now that’s brand loyalty! Shot Details: Canon 40D, 24-70 2.8L @ 54mm – 1/160, ISO [...]
Coffee-table book albums have been really popular with the wedding clients lately. They’re like those gorgeous hardcover photobooks you can buy at MOMA, but with your own images. I’m pretty excited about this new style we’re offering this year. It’s a 10″x10″ coffee-table book with a leather cover, presented in a custom designed box. Check out the full album layout here, featuring photography by Jake, our newest associate wedding photographer (welcome!).
