One of the things that’s fun about our jobs as photographers is getting to experience and see things you might otherwise not get access to.  One of those things happened this week as we covered the opening day of the new trading floor for the New York Stock Exchange in San Francisco.

Having seen many scenes from the original trading floor in New York, it was interesting to go check out the SF floor.  There’s a variety of roles that people fulfill and this article in Business Insider does a good job of explaining the difference between floor brokers, specialists and designated market-makers (DMMs).  We were there towards the end of the trading day so got to be there for the closing bell.
