The first shot…

Oftentimes I find that the very first shot taken turns out quite interesting. The subjects are usually relaxed in the sense that it’s not an ‘official’ shot but more to get composition, lighting, etc. In this case, I was shooting the overall champion of the 2006 Ironman figure championships, Halcyon Duarte, the morning after the competition and we finally got some sun and some warmth. She was just getting ready when I snapped this.

Heroes and Hearts

Today we photographed the Heroes and Hearts benefit at Union Square and as is the case for any event where our illustrious mayor is present, he’s mobbed by folks and especially photographers (hopefully when he sees us, he doesn’t cringe too much). Anyhow I go this one which ended up looking kinda funny with the photographer sticking his camera right at him while he tried to enjoy some art.

Learning while at work…

One of the nice things about shooting events is the exposure you get to a broad range of topics. Earlier this week I covered the first ever “Ending Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking in the 21st Century” conference at the new UCSF Mission Bay campus (it was actually the first conference ever held there). Another beautiful sunny day makes us wonder what it looks like from the roof so we checked it out today…

We had a sort of reunion with so many Orange Photography alumni at Stripe Sessions this week! Our own team of six covered the conference alongside many friends and former team members. It reminded us of how our connected our events community is here and how we all support each other and keep relationships going! #eventprofs #eventphotographers
