We recently had the honor of spending an evening with Tony Blair at the beautiful Fairmont Nob Hill. The former world leader made a visit to our lovely city to launch the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, a global education program that is particularly close to his heart. The program connects students across the globe via video conferencing and encourages them to discuss their experiences and perspectives on global issues, in efforts to break down stereotypes among religion and beliefs.

Hosted by Colliers International, the event kicked off with an introduction to the program, where Tony joined  a live video-chat with  students and teachers across the country sharing their experiences. It was encouraging to see the enthusiasm and positivity of both the students and teachers. A VIP Party in the Penthouse followed the event, where guests had the opportunity to have their photo taken with Tony Blair. Between the cameras, cocktails, attire and breathtaking views of the city at sunset from the Penthouse balcony, the gathering felt very prestigious.

Later on, Charlie Rose of PBS joined Tony Blair  for discussions on the challenges in our modern world.  The evening closed out with Larry Baer, President of our SF Giants, presenting Tony with his very own signed Tim Lincecum jersey, a very appropriate present as the Giants had just wrapped up their World Series Victory Parade that day. ‘Twas a very special evening! Here are some of Gene’s shots from the night.
