This isn’t so much a review since On Photography has been out for so long and should be a staple in any photographers library. Upon revisiting the text, it’s still full of thoughtful and relevant ideas. There are also numerous quotes that will make you laugh and think and maybe even reflect upon and inspire your own photography.
Early in the book, there’s a good one from Diane Arbus that I relate to completely from my initial foray into photography: “I always thought of photography as a naughty thing to do – that was one of my favorite things about it, and when I first did it. I felt very perverse.”
