Ahhh! Can’t believe how quickly the holidays have crept up on us? I feel like we were just celebrating the Giants’ World Series win and suddenly we’re hearing holiday music everywhere. Black Friday! Small Business Saturday! Cyber Monday! Giving Tuesday – it’s all a bit much eh?
Although most of America’s business entities want you to buy, buy, buy, there are a lot of other ways you can give this holiday season and we thought we’d outline some ways we’re doing so and ways that you can too. Some of these don’t cost anything but your time, while others include cold hard cash (or credit!).
Two organizations that we’re donating our time with include First Exposures and Help Portrait. On Dec. 8th is the Help Portrait at the Bayview Opera House that we’re collaborating on with First Exposures. We still need some assistance there and especially some makeup artists. If you are available to help out please reach out to us via email. To support First Exposures directly with a donation, you can do so here online.
On Dec. 5th there’s the MPINCC Holiday Reception at CityView at the Metreon. You can donate toys for the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program. If you’d like to donate to the program directly and can’t make the holiday reception, you can donate directly online here.
Finally, one of the local organizations we have done a lot with is the San Francisco Bike Coalition (have you seen the billboards around town that we shot for them?). As a San Francisco Green Business (and the first photography studio to earn the designation from the City and County of San Francisco) we like to promote green transportation alternatives and often ride bikes to shoots. The SFBC has done so much to make transit more green in San Francisco and they can also use any support and/or donations. Or just come by their Winterfest party on Dec 2nd and see what they’re up to (the silent auction also has some great deals on anything from restaurant certificates to massage and yoga to actual bicycles!)
