About 90 mins outside of Las Vega`s is a little disperse camping spot know as steward`s point. I made it my base station (Jan 2025!) as I couldn`t get a campsite in Valley of the Fire State Park. Well, it turn out mighty fine location for my drone shots. Since I got in the late evening, I didn`t get the chance to scout for a more scenic campsite but I am not complaining!

It`s been about 5 days ago since I returned from my two month tour of the american southwest. The usual routine of doing alot of `productive` things have taken over and in the evenings, I take a break from being productive to look over the photos from the trip. I haven`t had much contemplation time these days but the trip did provide enough unproductive time to narrow the focus of life moving forward. photography will become a hobby again next year was one resolve to create more room for big picture stitching. Meanwhile, my first stop on this trip was Moab, the adventure capital city. I attempted a trial run in the backcountry of moab and failed to my delight. when everything is empty there is nothing to achieve.

So i got a bit lucky with the sunset at long dong silver spire in Hanksville, UT. Not too far off the highway and pretty close to Capitol Reef National park as well if you`re in the area. I almost missed the landmark because I stopped at the first spire i saw and it turn out that it was just a teaser spire. Nothing like a little whiskey to add to the confusion.

Earlier this year, I did an overnight at Canyon de Chelly National Monument in Aroniza. Being the winter months, the limited hiking trails were closed so I can only soak glory of this mystic valley from the top. The fact that there were still native americans living in the valley is `good`? Purification should transcend time and space.

Last January, I kicked off my annual pilgrimage to Vegas with a pit stop in Taos, NM. Warmer than Denver? Yes! Short weather? Not quite. I found myself more café-bound than outdoor adventurer. Everyone raves about Taos, but let’s be real: winter put a bit of a damper on my enthusiasm.
