annenberg space for photography
I was down in Los Angeles last week and was able to stop by the newly opened Annenberg Space for Photography. Their site describes it as a place for “celebrating the human condition as seen through the lens of some of the world’s most renowned photographers.” Nice! and how extra nice that admission is free. Exhibits are an interesting combination of prints and digital displays (even in the […]

daryl hannah

My favorite Daryl Hannah character was Elle Driver of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad in Kill Bill, so it was fun to shoot the Friends of the Earth benefit where she, among many others,  was honored.  Also in attendance were Julia Butterfly Hill (shown at right) and her friend Paul Hawken (not shown above).  I’ve loved The Ecology of Commerce

2009 Bay to Breakers photos by Orange Photography
Thanks to everyone who came out for our annual B2B photo station! I took this shot of a group of revelers who had no problem posing with a friendly old man. He was really cool and I think the photo perfectly depicts the attitude shared by all participants who – for at […]

Every photo was filled with smiles on Tara and Robert’s wedding day this past week. The bride was stunning in a strapless gown with red detailing and red shoes (there’s no place like home..). Gene photographed their wedding and reception in nearby Oakland; the ceremony was at St. Augustine Church and the after party at the restaurant Citron. Take a quick peek into their happy day:

wedding_day_bannerSo WPJA and Mark Burnett Productions (of Survivor fame) are putting on a great contest for that couple who may not be able to afford their dream wedding.  Check out the full details of the contest on the page but here’s a recap:

Orange at Work

We’ve been trying to capture more shots of each other at work, especially doing stuff like photo stations, since clients are often curious about the setup. I love how the first image conveys Orangey fun vibes and shows how you can use an on-location site as a backdrop. Myleen and I kept running into each other while taking candids at a recent shoot, which called for impromptu shoot offs.
