One of the great things about shooting glitzy holiday parties (besides awesome catered food leftovers…) is having access to interesting venues. My favorites are the really old ones with original interior details. Apparently the Regency Center, built at the turn of the century, used to be a Mason lodge. You can see the Lodge level is well maintained with stained glass, red velvet wallpaper, and the carved dark beams. The City Club of SF has patterned copper […]
A quick shot of San Francisco’s Holiday skyline from Treasure Island. I didn’t even realize Coit Tower was red until I zoomed in while compositing this panoramic shot. Our city is always so beautiful and especially so during the holidays. (Note: you can purchase this shot online)
Andria was in Vietnam for vacation and just posted her shots from her trip. There are some amazing shots in the slideshow which you can view on her site. Andria has really been getting great shots throughout the year for our Orange clientele and it’s always nice to see what she produces in her own time too. […]
So we participated in Career Day at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School here in San Francisco last week and it was a lot of fun. Although students seemed pretty apathetic, it was cool that they were honest like the time I asked them if our group was less or more boring than the previous group and one girl blurted out “more”.
Here’s a few shots they took as I passed the camera around and explained what we […]

Since I grew up away from the West I didn’t really know anyone who was interned until I moved out to California. Well, we were hired to shoot the opening of the new Asian Law Caucus building at the edge of North Beach & Chinatown and the daughter of Fred Korematsu who was the Japanese-American who sued the US […]
We’ve photographed quite a lot of people and we’ve done a lot with authors. Novelists in particular fascinate me with the creative process that is required of writing a novel. This is just an outtake from a shoot earlier this week that I personally liked so I thought I’d post it to our blog.

Well I’ve never been up close and personal with Karl Rove but he was in town last week and we had a VIP Photo session so I got to chat with him as well as John Edwards some and I have to say that Mr. Rove was much more pursuasive that I may have thought before meeting him. He’s excellent with people and really knows how to work his own magic. The audience that he and […]
I hadn’t heard about Lynne Cox before we shot this event for Tufts at AT&T Park but she has an incredible story and is the second world record related event/person we’ve shot this week. Among the many records she created or broke, in 1987 Lynne […]
