Happy New Year!

Wow, what a year 2008 was.  We were busy growing Orange and got to see and photograph such a variety of events, celebrations, parties and more.  Our very last shoot of the year was, appropriately, a New Years Eve bash and this was one of the shots from the last few seconds of 2008.  We’re looking forward to another great year in […]

One of the great things about shooting glitzy holiday parties (besides awesome catered food leftovers…) is having access to interesting venues. My favorites are the really old ones with original interior details. Apparently the Regency Center, built at the turn of the century, used to be a Mason lodge. You can see the Lodge level is well maintained with stained glass, red velvet wallpaper, and the carved dark beams. The City Club of SF has patterned copper […]

San Francisco from Treasure Island - Holiday 2008

A quick shot of San Francisco’s Holiday skyline from Treasure Island.  I didn’t even realize Coit Tower was red until I zoomed in while compositing this panoramic shot.  Our city is always so beautiful and especially so during the holidays. (Note: you can purchase this shot online) […]

Civil Rights and the Asian Law Caucus

Being half-Japanese, but 100% American, I’ve always been fascinated about the Japanese internment during World War II.  Since I grew up away from the West I didn’t really know anyone who was interned until I moved out to California.  Well, we were hired to shoot the opening of the new Asian Law Caucus building at the edge of North Beach & Chinatown and the daughter of Fred Korematsu who was the Japanese-American who sued the US […]

Portrait Sessions

We probably don’t share enough of these. I was going through some of the Engagement and Portrait Sessions shot this year and thought you might like to see. Around this time of year, we get inquiries about booking creative portrait shoots for holiday gifts. Kind of different, right? For the person who has everything? We issue something like a gift certificate which can be redeemed for a customized session. These can be done in studio or on […]

Golden Gate Bridge photo

So this past week was incredibly busy so we apologize for not updating our blog as much.

On Friday I did a shoot for Kimberly Airey, a realtor here in the Bay Area.  We did one location shot in the headlands and you can actually see Kimberly on the bottom of this frame talking to our friend Melissa who was helping out […]

Karl Rove is everywhere…

Well I’ve never been up close and personal with Karl Rove but he was in town last week and we had a VIP Photo session so I got to chat with him as well as John Edwards some and I have to say that Mr. Rove was much more pursuasive that I may have thought before meeting him.  He’s excellent with people and really knows how to work his own magic.  The audience that he and […]
